TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

COURSE OVERVIEW - This unit specifies the outcomes required to operate a boom-type work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) for licensing purposes, and involves the operation of a telescoping device, hinged device or articulated device of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work.

This unit is based on the requirements of the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work and provides applicants with the knowledge and skills required to obtain a High Risk Licence to Operate an Elevating Work Platform.

DURATION - 2-3 Days


PRE-REQUISITES - Nil Applicable



  • You must be a minimum of 18 years of age

  • You will be required to conduct mathematical calculations throughout this course

  • You must supply 100 points of identification, including (1) form of current photo

  • A passport photo is required when you lodge your HR application with Australia Post


ASSESSMENTS - Three (3) assessments will be conducted over the duration of the course – Knowledge, Calculations and Practical Assessments. All critical components must be demonstrated and answered correctly.


REASSESSMENT - Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training. Applicants cannot be reassessed for a minimum of 48 hours; fees do apply for each section that requires reassessment.


LICENCES & CERTIFICATION - This course is Nationally Recognised Training and applicants’ deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment and the appropriate Licensing Body’s - Licence to Perform High Risk Work Application form. This application is to be lodged at Australia Post which incurs an additional cost and payable to Australia Post.
