RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform

COURSE OVERVIEW - This unit specifies the outcomes required to operate an elevating work platform and involves the operation of a device used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work. This includes scissor lifts, vertical lifts and boom lifts, mobile, trailer and truck mount. (a High Risk Work Licence is required to operate a boom type elevating work platform over 11m)

  • Determining Load Weight & SWL

  • Unplanned and or Unsafe Situations

  • Post Operational Checks

  • Shutdown & Secure

  • Damage & Defect Reporting


DURATION - 1 day

PRE-REQUISITES - Nil Applicable


ASSESSMENTS - Two (2) assessments will be conducted over the duration of the course – Knowledge and Practical Assessments. All critical components must be demonstrated and answered correctly.


REASSESSMENT - Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training. Applicants cannot be reassessed for a minimum of 48 hours; fees do apply for each section that requires reassessment.


LICENCES & CERTIFICATION - This course is Nationally Recognised Training and applicants’ deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet-size competency card.
