COURSE OVERVIEW - This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate an elevating work platform up to 11 meters which is cludes a scissor lift and boom used up to 11 meters.
This unit applies to those working in operational roles. The work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work but this unit does not provide the licence. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements that may apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors, and must be sourced prior to applying this unit.

- planning and preparing for operating elevating work platforms
- selecting and using the required plant, tools and equipment to perform work activity
- identifying site requirements for emergencies at heights
- stabilising or positioning elevating work platform
- using manufacturer approved safety devices fitted to the machine
- moving the elevating work platform to and from work site
- inspecting work platform and identifying faults
- reviewing machine maintenance logbook records
- checking, cleaning, maintaining and storing elevating work platform, tools and equipment
DURATION - 6 hours, - 8:00am - 2:00pm
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW & DO -
- You will be required to conduct mathematical calculations throughout this course
- You must supply 100 points of identification, including (1) form of current photo
- Wear comfortable and practical clothing and enclosed footwear
TRAINING & ASSESSMENT - Two (2) assessments will be conducted at the completion of training – Knowledge and Practical Assessments.
REASSESSMENT - Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training. Fees may apply for further training and reassessment.
LICENCES & CERTIFICATION - This course is a Nationally Recognised Training and applicants’ deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO301E and a wallet-size competency card.
