COURSE OVERVIEW -  This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work safely at heights in the resources and infrastructure industries.

It applies to those working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

Licensing, legislative and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors. Users must check requirements with relevant body before applying the unit.

Note: The terms Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Work Health and Safety (WHS) are equivalent and generally either can be used in the workplace. In jurisdictions where the National Model WHS Legislation has not been implemented RTOs are advised to contextualise the unit of competency by referring to the existing State/Territory OHS legislative requirements.

  • checking the correct fitting, adjusting and anchoring of fall protection and associated equipment

DURATION - 6 hours, 8:00am - 2:00pm

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW & DO -

  • You will be required to conduct mathematical calculations throughout this course
  • You must supply 100 points of identification, including (1) form of current photo
  • Wear comfortable and practical clothing and enclosed footwear

TRAINING & ASSESSMENT - Two (2) assessments will be conducted at the completion of training – Knowledge and Practical Assessments.

REASSESSMENT - Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training. Fees may apply for further training and reassessment.

LICENCES & CERTIFICATION - This course is a Nationally Recognised Training and applicants’ deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS204E and a wallet-size competency card.
